Music Productions

Record Label: BlatantPropaganda.org

The Canberra-based record label was active from the mid-1990s through to the mid 2000s; with some sporadic activity since then. Some of the label’s compilation albums are here on Bandcamp with other releases available via these bandcamp pages for EYE and The E.L.F. and AYA. The compilations include the “ElectriCity” series of Canberra electronic music.

Regards songs I produced that were played on radio stations see this image for playlists regards “A Nice Walk in the Park” – originally released as being by the “E.L.F.“. The image shows that track was broadcast on the national Triple JJJ network 2003 through 2005. Several songs by a prior project named “EYE” were frequently broadcast on radio during 1998-2004; one track called “Mandate” had a low-budget video. Here’s a playlist for that being shown on the Australian national ABC-TV show called “Rage”.

These following links are to pages on the discogs.com site. These list many of the songs and albums I produced and which were released on CDs & cassette tapes by numerous record labels. The DJ Robot Citizen pageThe Blatant Propaganda record label page … Pages for EYEThe E.L.F.AYA

This page lists and links around 60 appearances of my productions [songs/tracks] on compilation albums of various artists; released by labels in Australia, The Americas, the U.K. and Europe.

Media Interviews

Some of the interviews and articles in magazines, newspapers and websites:

2016 website interview about DJing, clubs, scenes, events, music

“DRUM” music paper Sydney

“Industrial Nation” magazine USA

“Sydney Morning Herald” newspaper

“Cyclic Defrost” zine Sydney

“The Canberra Times” newspaper

+   “3D World” dance music paper Sydney

“B.M.A.” music magazine Canberra

I was interviewed around a dozen times on Australian radio shows during the late 1990s and early-mid 2000s; in relation to my songs and record label productions. I don’t have recordings of those as most were broadcast in other cities; interviews were done live over the phone or recorded to reel-to-reel tape and it was too difficult to obtain copies from busy people. I was interviewed in 2000 by the SBS-TV “Alchemy” music program, though I missed the broadcast and have not obtained a copy.

Radioshows

Click this following link for some notes about the many radio programs I hosted on Community Radio 2XX 98.3FM in Canberra Australia; during the 1990s 2000s and 2010s.

Programs I hosted included the drive-time “Sunset” program [Thursdays then Fridays] plus a range of genre-specialty Saturday evening shows including themes of: Australian music, Canberra music, electronic music and dark alternative music.

I don’t have records about the vast majority of programs. Most occurred prior to the rise of online social media. I recall that a few shows were recorded to analogue cassette tape and one to digital audio tape [DAT]; hope to find those one day! I wish I recorded many more but it just didn’t occur to us then as something important to do.

I retired from radio in 2015 as it seemed internet streaming services had taken over as the main way for people to hear new music.

I also worked at Radio 2XX as promotions manager and as the station manager.
